John 5:19-23

The Authority of the Son

19So Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, athe Son bcan do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father
Greek he
does, that the Son does likewise.
20For dthe Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And egreater works than these will he show him, so that fyou may marvel. 21For as the Father graises the dead and hgives them life, so ialso the Son gives life jto whom he will. 22 kFor the Father judges no one, but lhas given all judgment to the Son, 23that all may honor the Son, just as they mhonor the Father. nWhoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

John 5:30

Witnesses to Jesus

30 oI can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and pmy judgment is just, because qI seek not my own will rbut the will of him who sent me.

John 17:1

The High Priestly Prayer

1When Jesus had spoken these words, she lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, tthe hour has come; uglorify your Son that the Son may vglorify you,

John 17:4-7

4I wglorified you on earth, xhaving accomplished the work that you gave me to do. 5And now, Father, yglorify me in your own presence with the glory zthat I had with you aabefore the world existed.

6 ab“I have manifested your name to the people acwhom you gave me out of the world. adYours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7Now they know that everything aethat you have given me is from you.

1 Corinthians 15:24-28

24Then comes the end, when he delivers afthe kingdom to God the Father after destroying agevery rule and every authority and power. 25For he must reign ahuntil he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26The last enemy to be aidestroyed is death. 27For aj“God
Greek he
has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him.
28When alall things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that amGod may be all in all.
